ASTM A36 seamless steel pipe as a high-quality carbon structural steel, is widely used in bridges, construction and other fields with its unique tensile and yield strength. This kind of steel pipe not only has good welding performance, but is also often regarded as a substitute for Q235 material. Although ASTM A36 and Q235 differ in tensile and yield strengths, they are often used interchangeably in practical applications.
ASTM A36 implements the ASTM A36/A36M-03a standard. This standard applies to high-quality carbon steel profiles, steel plates and bars for bridges, construction rivets, bolts, welded structures and general structural steel. The tensile strength of A36 is 58~80 Ksi (approximately 400~550MPa), and the yield strength is 36 Ksi (approximately 250MPa).
The tensile strength of Q235 steel pipe is 370~500MPa and the yield strength is 235MPa.
These two materials are often interchangeable in real life.
ASTM A36 seamless steel pipe is a material with certain shape, size and performance made from steel ingots, billets or steel through pressure processing. Most steel processing is through pressure processing, which causes plastic deformation of the processed steel (steel billets, steel ingots, etc.). According to the different processing temperatures of steel, it can be divided into two types: cold processing and hot processing.
ASTM A36 seamless steel pipes can be easily joined using various welding techniques such as gas shielded metal arc welding, shielded metal arc welding, and oxyacetylene welding.
